The answers are still a mystery.

Well both the Angiogram and the MRI came back negative. Meaning the bleed was NOT caused by a weakened blood vessel or artery and that she has no tumors that can be seen. They think perhaps it is related to high blood pressure or hyper tension. Mom is having a tough time waking up from the surgery. She is groggy and in a good amount of pain. This is the most uncomfortable I have seen her since this whole ordeal started. At this moment she is sleeping. Each time she wakes up she does ask me if she can walk out of here and I have to keep telling her no. I will stay until she is feeling better.

In another month or so they will do another MRI to see if they can see anything but at this point Dr. Tang does not feel it is a neurological issue. Keep sending your good thoughts and well wishes, mom does appreciate them. xo -alissa

Dear Julia,

I hear you have the doctors mystified. I sure hope that you don't have to go through more tests for a while. We think of you all the time and wish we could do more than just picking up your mail and watering your plants. maybe someday soon we can bring you a home cooked meal or your favorite food from Bucci's. You have a lot of friends and everyone is asking about you.

Hugs from both of us,
Harley and Ute

Dearest Julia,

My thoughts are with you constantly. Any chance I can visit before I leave for Minneapolis on Friday. Even for a few minutes? You are such a fighter .... keep your sense of humor ... so we can have a nice glass of wine, good dinner, some gossip, and a laugh. Love you dearly, and love to the family. The blog is a godsend.

Feel better. Big hugs, Maryellen

Julia: I just thought that you, as a university foundation fundraising executive, might want to know that coumadin, most probably a drug they are giving you at this point, was originally named "warfirin" as it was the product of research funded by WARF (Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation) and was actually based upon work in the University of Wisconsin-Madison' College of Ag. Sciences to find the origins of the bleeding in Wisconsin cows....turned out to be a clover variety they were eating and viola, that clover led researchers to recreate its properties in a blood-thinning drug they named for its Wisconsin roots, "WARFirin," or coumadin. This should help should you get stuck in some medical version of Trivial Pursuit down the road!!! Sending you all best wishes and love, Cindy and JaNell

Dear Julia,

You have always been a woman of mystery but isn't this taking the concept a little too far?

I hope that you are feeling more comfortable today and that progress forward is steady. We are waiting with open arms, a glass of wine, and some fresh picked tomatoes.
