how it can change

Mom did sit up last night and even got out of bed for a half a second! She had a restless night sleep but she did say she did manage to get a few hours of sleep last night. Her blood pressure is stable. She is thirsty mostly because of the sodium drip they are giving her to keep the swelling down. Mom keeps a close eye on the clock so she doesn't miss an hour of chips and sips. Her potassium and magnesium are low and the nurses are working on getting those levels back up. We need to continue to watch her today and hope there is still no change.

As I type this mom is complaining of heart pain and a headache. They are monitoring her very closely. They are giving her and EKG as I type....more to come. keep sending your good thoughts.

Hi Julia,
This is such shocking news! I'm learning to pray again. My brother Curly had a very dangerous surgery last week. I said two prayers, in case I didn't get the first one right. He is stubborn and pulled through in good shape and I'm confident that you will too. Thanks so much to your family for maintaining this blog. It is a great way to get out the news of your progress. Julia, we love you very much. I will come visit when I know it's OK.

Get better as quickly as you can, we have a lunch date in a few weeks.

Love,
Estelle

Julia,
Mark and I have had you in our thoughts and prayers ever since Angella first called us. We have a whole church praying for you. I know they do a great job because they are the same people that got Mark through his heart surgery. Stay strong Julia!

Alissa, Galen, Mark,
You three are amazing. Stick together. A family together is like a bundle of twigs. Strong and cannot be broken--alone a twig is snapped. (I heard that in a movie one time believe or not.)But I believe it.

Angella, Stay strong and supportive. You are always so helpful and loving. Alissa and her family need you to stay that way.

All, We are just a phone call away. If you absolutely need anything. For now you will get prayers, prayers, prayers. I have turned on my perpetual candle and each time I pass it I am reminded to send strong thoughts and comforting prayers your way. Love to you all, Nancy and Mark Bernal

Julia, please know we are all praying for you here at Sylvan and will continue to do so until you're home and strong. Alissa and Angella, please know that I am here, willing to help with "anything" you need. Just call if you need me to do anything and I will be there. Thank you so much for posting this blog to keep us up to date on progress. We're all here for you and praying fora quick and strong recovery.

Dear Julia,

You were supposed to be with us today in Geyserville. While we recognize that you have an excellent, if thoroughly unpleasant excuse, we have chosen to act as if you are well and here for a visit. We have set a place for you at the table. Brian has put out the raft in the pool and we have set up the lounge you like in the shade. I have prepared a ratatouille with eggplant, zucchini, and tomatoes from the garden for our lunch together. Brian is working on a white peach gelato for the three of us to have at dinner.

The rose is chilled.

Your spirit is up here with us, dear friend, healthy and in the sunshine. This is how we are picturing you and how we expect you to be real soon. Come back to us; we love and miss you so very much.

John and Brian
