We have just read the most recent set of posts to Mom. She is very thankful and wishing she were at John and Brian's place in Geyserville!
Our challenge now is that she has some increased dizziness and some continued reliance on medicine to control her blood pressure. We may do another CAT Scan, but that will be up to the doctor.
This is the last really iffy day - her brain should reach the maximum level of swelling, so if we can get through this day, we believe that surgery will be completely ruled out. Keep those good thoughts coming our way.

We'll all be passing the rose after today! All of the Pedder's are thinking of you and sending the good vibrations your way. 3 weeks ago you and Nancy could have been roommates at Alta Bates in CCU, wouldn't that have been a party?! Not for the reasons we'd prefer but as she always says, you never know what life is going to throw at you next. I find incredible inspiration in her strength and I know you have that strength too! She's home and on the mend and we hope to see you doing the same VERY soon! Lots of love, big hugs and a smooch! xoxoxo
Dearest Julia,
Just a note today to send you all my love .... You're constantly on my mind ... and what I think of when I think of you is all the life, all the joy, all the joie de vivre you have and share with so many of us. So hope you can get up out of your bed soon and get back to what you do best: living richly (and I don't mean money!)
I hope you and your wonderful children will find something for your friends to do soon. I -- and I know we all -- want to be of help. And I want to visit as soon as possible. With big hugs, Maryellen
Dear Julia,
We harvested and cooked down nectarines today. I put them up in a syrup of white wine, sugar, amaretto, and brandy. I sure could have used your help. Your assistance has been critical in past years with pears and plums; I know you would have been boffo with nectarines.
We are going to pick the wild plums that you like so much tomorrow and Brian will be making jam and chutney. We will certainly set aside your usual allotment. We'll forgive your absence on the picking line this year but we expect you to help with the tomato canning in September.
Keep getting better, dearest.
John and Brian
