I have returned to Texas, but was excited to talk with Mom last night. She sounded the best yet - spunky. I personally think it was the chocolate pudding. My task is to meet up with some of our friends at The Methodist Hospital Neurological Institute to get a sense of what Mom's rehab will be like and get booked on a return flight later this week. Now, I am as much of a consumer of this blog as the rest of you, and I felt my own spirits lifted at reading everyone's posts. How wonderful to be surrounded by such a strong circle of support. Thanks to everyone.

Julia- What's with this hospital gig? Missed you big time at Slade's San Anselmo tournament. Wasn't the same without you. The tournament was awesome and Slade fantastic as usual but this time he added 2 terrific, gutty, sore-armed pitching performances on the last day including the last 2 innings of the championship game which was a total nail-biter. So happy to hear all of the good news, except possibly for the hospital food part. How is the cuisine? Been getting detailed updates from Mark and Jess of course and we're so relieved to hear you're doing so well. Been thinking about you constantly. Now we'll see if we can figure out how to send this message. We're blogging virgins.
