Just spent most of the day with mom. She is doing well. She has FINALLY gotten on board and has been doing her homework for the last few days. She is feeling less dizzy and is stronger. Herrick has confirmed that mom will be discharged on Wednesday (20th) and we are busy trying to coordinate and schedule her trip to Houston. She is going to stay with Gaylen until around Labor Day. This will give us a chance to get things set up for her at home. Tomorrow is a day of rest for her at Herrick and then will be back on the therapy routine Monday and Tuesday.

Dear Julia,
Brian and I are so pleased to know that things are going better and that you are feeling real improvement. Brian is going to try and take the afternoon off on Tuesday the 19th to come up and see you. With my travel schedule, I won't be able to see you until Houston, when I plan to come out and visit on the 27th or 28th.
Let us know if you need anything. We are putting up tomatoes, tomato sauce, and other goodies with your name on it.

it was so great to see you on thursday. just so great. i was supposed to call you today, sunday, to be the nag in your ear about homework but my travels to the east coast distracted me. know that you were on my mind, are on my mind, and i am so pleased that you are moving forward in your recovery. keep up the homework - it will be sooo worth it. love to you.

With all this talk about homework, it sounds like they have you busy at Herrick! We're just back from a weekend in So. Cal. for another wedding and again, it was deeply moving for lesbian couples who are in their 60's, many of whom lived closeted lives for many years, to witness the marriage of friends....not a dry eye!
We love you and are just thrilled that you are on your way to Texas to be with Gaylen and family for some more healing R&R after the 20th. It has been quite a month and you'll enjoy some major grandchildren time.
We so look forward to seeing you in September when the summer moon is full! Keep up the good work and don't hesitate to ask if we can offer anything!
