ButterCup-ButterCup-ButterCup

Can you keep saying that for a minute without messing up? That was just one exercise Mom had to do today. Herrick had her doing lots of physical, occupational, and speech therapy. The OT therapist had her on the computer today. It was slow going she said, but she did manage to get onto the blog and read some of the posts and entries herself. The good wishes really keep her spirits up. The speech therapist gave Mom homework and I made her practice her tongue twisters as I painted her toes.

Here are just a few:
Friendly Frank flips fine flapjacks.
Twelve Twins twirled twelve twigs --- we both had trouble with this one
Six Slippery Snails slid slowly seaward -- I think this one was on an episode of the Brady Bunch.

The doctors are trying a new medication for her dizziness. The patches are not working. The dizziness continues to get in her way and makes it challenging to do everything. This morning, Gaylen and I were trying to imagine what it must be like to be dizzy ALL the time and we decided it is no wonder mom is so tired and only wants to be laying down.

Julia,

I am at the Marts & Lundy staff conference in Toronto and all your friends here send piles of love and good wishes.

Following your latest adventure in tongue twisters, I am going to ask the firm to repeat several of them as a group exercise this morning at our shareholders' meeting. I figure it will reduce tensions and focus everyone on the really important things in life.

You get better fast. Brian and I want to challenge you to a buttercup buttercup tournament soon. Perhaps Marge and Bill would join us.

Much love.

John

Dear Julia,

You are a champion ... and as one of the most word-savvy people I know, should definitely win the tongue twisting derby! I'm sorry I've been out of touch the last couple of days; it's been draining here in Minneapolis in the nursing home with Mom. Flying home this evening. Really hope to visit you this week ..... I'm thinking of you constantly. With love to you and the family. Maryellen

Julia: Of course, I keep seeing "Reese's Peanut BUTTERCUP, Reese's Peanut BUTTERCUP...."....not much easier to say quickly either! I know that the dizziness is just a real drag as I've walked through that with Mother but I know it has a fix and you'll find your version as each case is different but fixable. It sounds like you are going full speed ahead with your healing work just as one would expect of a gal who doesn't let one blade of grass grow beneath her feet. We send lots of love. As for here at the Terraces, you are simply missing the final phases of living in what sounds like something between a coal mine and a dentist's office!
Cheers, Cindy and JaNell

Those tongue twisters were challenging. I do remember the six snails one from the Brady Bunch.

I have bouts with Vertigo so do know how hard it can be to move when you are dizzy. I have what is called positional vertigo, so I can reposition the tilt of my head and it is corrected. I pray that you get relief from the dizziness so that you can conquer the tasks at hand, Julia.

I am just catching up on the entries to the blogsite and congratulate Angella and Alissa for taking some time to enjoy some pints and take in a movie. Hope all progresses well. Love to you all. Continued rest and recovery.

Warm regards, Nancy & Mark Bernal

Good morning Julia, all. Good to see things are progressing. At the risk of yet another little elocution exercise challenging your sanity, perhaps for variety anyway, one we use a lot in acting class is "Red leather, yellow leather."

Jose' sends his love. Big hug, M

Try this one:
I am not the pheasant plucker,
I'm the pheasant plucker's mate.
I am only plucking pheasants
'cause the pheasant plucker's running late.

Julia, I'm sending you lots of love and good wishes. Hope you get better soon.
